Fewer Filipinos Consider Themselves Poor

Our country is a third world country not because it is poor. We are rich in natural resources. Unfortunately, there is a cancer in the government. It has been ran by corrupt public officials who also have bosses who are oligarchs, So the poor became poorer and the few who were rich became richer. For a long time, our farmers only worked hard to produce rice but couldn’t afford to eat them. They eat corn as they find it affordable compared to rice, worse is they only consume root crops to live by.

Graph showing percentage of citizens who consider themselves poor in terms of food

This is an all time low record. The past administrations had high percentages which means that the first 100 days of President Duterte has made an impact to the poorest citizens of the country.

The Versatile Blogger Award

I’m glad to share with you that I received this nomination from Princess of the Rain (DA SOM). I love her blog as it is mainly about Korean Skin Care. It may focus on K skin care but versatility comes in the options she presents as she has been reviewing a lot of products for different skin types, even combatting acne. I didn’t really know a lot of other brands out there that she has posted and it’s awesome! 🙂 Thank you my friend for including me in your list even though my blog is still a baby. 💕

The rules for this Award are:

Share 7 facts about yourself!

So I will start with the 7 facts about myself:

1 I love natural skin care products. I’ve been reading a lot about the products and ingredients that may cause potential harm to a person’s health and I’ve been trying as much as I can to avoid them. That brought me to liking Korean skincare since they have a lot of brands that are more natural when it comes to ingredients, balanced PH, not acidic, no yucky ingredients.

2 I used to be apathetic with my political views not because I am ashamed of my nationality but because our country has been long buried in the depths of greed and manipulation by the oligarchs who has been the only ones benefiting from our resources. Now, my views changed when our then, Mayor Duterte, ran for presidency and won as our 16th president! I’d say I’m a patriot and I’ve never knew that until I saw hope for this country.

3 I love music. It helps me relax my mind and it’s my escape from anxiety when it would strike at times.

4 I love food but I’m not a good cook. 😂 I can’t refuse sweets and pastries!

5 I love to travel. I mean, who doesn’t? I would definitely make a point in my 2017 calendar to do so. LOL!

6 My favorite house chore is washing clothes like I’m obsessed with the laundry basket. I can’t stand it when it’s not empty. Yup,…

7  I’m weird. 😂 We have our share of weirdness and I’d say it’s fine as long as it doesn’t get too far like trying to justify why we are weird. In this case, I’d finish this paragraph. 🙈

So here I am nominating 15 following blogs for

Review: Innisfree Manuka Honey Mask

From Innisfree Website:
Moisturize your skin with the manuka honey It’s real squeeze mask!

1. It’s real squeeze mask – manuka honey
Manuka honey from New Zealand’s manuka flowers has abundant nutrients for healthier skin.

2. Jeju green complex
The Jeju green complex consists of green tea, tangerine, cactus, camellia leaves, and orchids to keep your skin healthy.

3. Triple-layered sheet
This triple-layer sheet has a long-lasting moisturizing effect so that the essence can gradually be absorbed into the skin.
How to use

1. After washing your face, gently apply toner on your face to even out your skin texture.

2. Then, apply the mask over your entire face, avoiding your eye and lip areas.

3. Remove the mask after 10-20 minutes and gently pat your face to allow the remaining formula to absorb into your skin.

My experience:

I have a combination type of skin but it’s more on the dry side. This mask is super hydrating! Others might find this greasy or too heavy in moisture but for me, it’s just right. 😊 I might not always prefer this over fruity or herbal masks but I’m fine with this mask every 2 weeks to give my skin more moisture. After using the mask, I had to let the remaining formula be absorbed on my skin since it’s not a wash off type. It’s really a  thick formula, I’d say.

I’m currently using avocado emulsion and it’s great at doing its job in keeping my skin moisturized but I don’t mind using this mask every two weeks to get the many skin benefits from Manuka Honey 🍯.

In case you haven’t encountered Manuka Honey, here are some benefits from Mindbodygreen :

Heals acne: Due to its anti-inflammatory properties, manuka honey reduces redness and heals congested or inflamed skin and eczema. Additionally, Manuka oxygenates pores to draw out bacteria, drastically improving acne-prone areas.
Repairs skin: Manuka promotes skin regeneration, repairs cellular damage and lessens scarring.
Hydrates: When applied to your skin, manuka will hold in moisture and absorb moisture from the air for a dewy, glowing complexion.
Anti-aging: Because of its moisturizing properties, manuka retains moisture without making skin oily, the first step in wrinkle-free skin. It also inhibits MMP, a group of enzymes that destroy collagen.

Yolks! Flower Café + Cupcakery

It’s the talk of the town and so I visited as soon as I had an appointment nearby. This cafe is known for the cakes with piped floral designs by the owner Michelle Robin. She’s a familiar face to every Davaoeño as she appears everyday on our local TV Patrol as a newscaster.

It is located at circumferential road, near Mercury Drugstore

They partnered with Eufloria which explains the floral theme of the interior of the cafe

Metro Manila Before and After Duterte Took Oath

In spite of the many criticisms of the newly seated president of the Philippines, the 16 million people who voted for him, with their unwavering support continue to see the changes he has done for the country.

My Pore Care Essentials

I don’t have too many open pores but a portion of my cheeks and nose have more open pores than the rest of my facial skin. I’ve been using these two products to help me take care of my pores, minimize them and keep them away from breakouts.

I’m using A’Pieu Stone Peach Pore Less Freshner after cleansing my face. I use a cotton pad to wipe my face with it. This product is mild, it doesn’t feel like there is any alcohol content. I like that it can show visible results in minimizing my pores. I love that I can buzz off right after using this product and I won’t feel dry on my face. It’s like a liquid moisturizer/ cleanser.

I’m also using EcoSkinLove Witch Hazel Toner. It’s really a great buy! It’s the only toner which makes my skin really feeling clean while minimizing my pores, too. What I like about this product is it also helps in getting rid of pimples. Witch hazel has a lot of skin care benefits and being anti-acne is one of those. I always have these period breakouts. They appear on my temple or forehead usually and they’re painful sometimes. When I use this toner, the pimples easily dry up and starts healing. Unlike the other brands of witch hazel toners I’ve tried in the past or even those I just sniffed at Watson’s (LOL), this toner doesn’t smell too strong. I get that witch hazel is a medicinal plant and it should have some herbal scent but there are brands that I really can’t use because of the strong scent! I love this EcoSkinLove witch hazel toner.

If you want to buy/ know about these products:

I hope this can help anyone who has large pore problems.
